So what exactly should I prime you may be wondering, and what primers should I use? Well I say prime everything, from your eyelashes, to your face, and even your lips. Look below to find the primers for summer months, and my favorite primers that keep my makeup in check. Note: all primers must be applied before putting on makeup and on a clean face.
Let's start with the eyelashes, in order to keep mascara from running, my favorite eyelash primer is Shiseido The Makeup Mascara Base. It keeps my mascara where it's suppose to be all day. You can read my full review here. I love love love this product and it's a must have in warmer months.
For covering up under eye circles, I suggest using a primer to keep your concealer under your eyes. So why not get something that primers underneath the eye. A good one to try is Benefit's Stay Don't Stray under eye primer. It also works as a primer for the lid and holds eyeshadows as well.
My ultimate favorite primer for holding eyeshadow is Too Faced Shadow Insurance, or Urban Decay's Primer Potion. Both keep your eyeshadow crease-less for hours.
Now that we're done with the eyes let's move on to the face. My skin type is oily, so It's very important that I prime my face with an oil free or mattifier type of primer. Otherwise I might as well not even wear makeup. It took me a while but the perfect primer that keeps me matt for hours is Dr Brandt Pores No More. Not only does this keep my skin shine free for hours it also shrinks the pores.
For filling in brows, I haven't found a primer for that quite yet. If anyone knows of any please let me know. However the surest way to keep brows looking fresh in the summer months is by using powder. Powder won't melt off your face as easily as pencils which is why I always opt for brow powder during the summer months. My favorite is the Anastasia Duo Brow Powder. You get two colors to make your brows look as natural as they possible can.
I hope you guys enjoyed this summer makeup primer feature, and hopefully these products help to keep your makeup in tack. As always try products that work best for your skin type these are just a few that work well for me. Good luck everyone.
