This unique cut is a short cut for a woman that looks like a checkered cut. The photo above it shows what she looks like with her head up. I think it's pretty amazing to look at. The hair is dyed a pale white adn then the clippers make the checkerboard look. The roots below make the "black" or darker squares. Pretty interesting styling here.

I could so not get away wiht this haircut, but it is so fascinating to me. There's another I want to share as well. It's pretty amazing to see. It adds a uniqueness to hair I don't always see, but honestly, while I'm not sure I could wear this myself, I'm fascinated by these hairstyles and dye jobs.

• Starting on wet hair, Danilo sprayed the Pantene Pro-V Root Lifter Gel on her crown to prime her hair for a voluminous shape on top
• Since Ashley was stationed outside on the red carpet, Danilo combed through the Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Frizz Control Ultra Smoothing Balm from the mid-shaft of her hair to the ends to keep it looking sleek and frizz-free despite the humidity
• After applying the balm, Danilo blow-dried her hair straight
• Danilo then pulled the top half of her hair back, using his classic French Lacing technique to give her healthy volume on top while leaving a dramatic side part for contrast
• Then he used a large iron to create her loose flowing curls underneath, combing when necessary

To hold the look in place, Danilo sprayed her hair with the Pantene Pro-V Texture Hairspray for moveable texture while she worked the carpet

How To Get Katy Perry’s Makeup Look. Katy Perry is known for her bold lips and sparkling eyes. Last week at the VMA's Katy had a gorgeous look to go with her sparkling dress Covergirl makeup artist, Jake Bailey shows us how to get her looks by using simple Covergirl products.

Katy’s look was definitely inspired by her dress; she wore an outrageous metal spiked mesh mini by “The Blonds.” The dress reminded me of a Gianni Versace book I have called “Rock and Royalty” and the powerful iconic images in it. I wanted the eyes to evoke that type of decadent glamour and of course complement the sparkle of the dress with a little sparkle on the eyes.

We used NARS Oil Free foundation as Katy’s base and a pink shimmer Blush for some glow. We kept the lips matte so the emphasis was on her eyes, but they definitely were not without color! For the carpet, Katy wore a matte coral and for her performance and after party, she wore a matte red.

The eye look was done with black and gunmetal shadows, silver glitter and liquid liner. A great trick to wearing glitter like this, is to blend a little cream shadow onto the area where you want to place the glitter. You should do this once your eye makeup is finished. So as a last step, gently apply the glitter using your fingertip… just a little at a time in order to avoid a mess. Once finished use scotch tape to remove any excess glitter that may have fallen on the face. Press the tape gently into the skin and it picks it right up.

A lot of times I wonder why I buy clothes and bags that are covered with labels. Everyone does it whether they do it on purpose or not. My friends and I went through the whole American Eagle and Abercrombie and Fitch phase. And the number of people wearing North Face has seem to grow even bigger these days. But what’s so great about these labels anyway?

In my opinion a North Face jacket was nothing more than an expensive outdoor coat. And the outdoor type of look never appealed to me, but I wanted it just as much as everyone else and probably for the same reason. The North Face label. The little text on the left shoulder. What an embarrassing reason!

Now, a few years after that whole obsession, I find myself with the same kind of fetish, except with higher-end brands like Gucci and Louis Vuitton. Although I’m not as tense about labels, in the back of my mind I know that I want that certain Gucci logo bag or the pair of Chanel sunglasses not exactly because I want or need them, but so I can feel “in style.” It got me thinking, as we grow older do we act the same with different commodities? Are labels constantly going to give us that certain satisfaction that we’ve always felt after buying them?

It may seem that I’m against brands, which is simply untrue, but everyone wearing the same thing gets really boring, no? As much as I love some of the most popular labels it almost seems like buying the same thing equals getting a nod of approval from friends and the community. I know that’s how I felt used to and sometimes even now.

Extensions have long been popular in Hollywood, with extension lines from Jessica Simpson (HairDo) and Paris Hilton (Dream Catchers). But this summer, many of Hollywood’s most recognized women are chopping it all off and we say, it’s about time! Ladies, follow the latest Hollywood trend and feel ok about getting rid of those fake extensions and dried-out ends. Two of the most inspiring new hairstyles are Katie Holmes’ layered bob and Renee Zellweger’s cropped cut. Here are the secrets to what they did and who can pull it off.

Pump up the Volume!

Renee’s previous hairstyle did nothing to flatter her unique looks. Her shoulder-length, baby-fine hair looked over-processed and hung limply below her shoulders. Rarely has a hairstyle generated as much talk as Katie Holmes’ recent sassy, layered bob.

Unfortunately for Tom (who, rumor has it, loves women with long hair), Katie’s long, girlish hairstyle did not flatter her body type or facial features. Katie has a downward-turned eye shape and a long, narrow body. Her long hair seemed to drag down her features even more, making her appear droopy and shapeless. Her new chin-length style lifts her face and opens her eyes, and the shaggy layers add movement and a grown-up sex appeal.

Everyone is looking for that fun job that you can enjoy and there are plenty. At Sonics you get to skate around and serve people and engineers seem to work at Google because of the playground environment; let’s face it: we all want to have an exciting job and sometimes that’ll even makeup for the low wages.

Crazy as it may sound, cafes in Tokyo actually hire young, cute girls that will dress up like elegant maids and serve their customers, which are mostly men, like masters. Many Japanese people, even families, are into “costume playing” or dressing up like anime characters and a few years ago the first maid cafe was created in a city in Tokyo. Service is a lot different than a regular restaurant or cafe and the workers treat their customers with great respect.

So who actually comes to these cafes? Young boys and rich men? Not quite, but close. Most of the customers end up being geeks that read the manga and watch the anime shows on TV. I find it rather amusing.

I think the whole idea of working in costumes is an interesting idea, but I think I would get tired of it in the end. The maid costume is cute and certainly more creative than an ordinary work dress code, but the whole job working as a maid sounds very demanding. So what’s your idea of a fun job?
