Tokyo’s Fashion

Currently residing in Tokyo, Japan, I have noticed that beauty is something necessary for many females and males. Most women carry around designer bags and highly decorated cell phones with sparkle and flowers. Men carry designer wallets and wear cowboy fashioned shoes. One can easily notice that the people in Tokyo pay very close attention to the way they look. However, I must remind the readers that this is Tokyo fashion and not that of Japan. We all know that the fashion sense in New York is nothing like the one in Dallas. The ideals of Paris are not the ideals of Southern France. Therefore, Tokyo does not represent Japan neither culturally nor fashionably, and yet it's a common mistake to assume so.

The women in Tokyo must be the hardest working, highest paying customers of beauty products. It seems most of the working women can't afford to go to their office without make-up. They would be perceived as unclean if they should ever appear without it. They also shave their arm hair, their legs, armpits, and pay extra close attention to their eyebrows and eyelashes. Beautiful eyes are those with double lids, heavy mascara, thick upper and lower lid eyeliner and a light-colored eye shadow. Eye-lid surgery, along with colored contact lenses, is very popular. For those who can't afford surgery, special glue and tape are sold to create the double eyelid as a temporary solution.
As for body shape, a large behind is not desirable in women, and it is better to have large breasts. Though not many Japanese women are born with large breasts. To solve this, breast enhancers of all varieties are sold from silicon cups to herbal medicines to even massages that claim to boost the breast size. Generally speaking, the women are very slim. The average woman is about 160 centimeters tall, or 5 feet and 3 inches. Weight loss advertisements, however, often portray women who used to weigh 58 kilograms (127 lbs) and now weigh 46 kilograms (101.5 lbs) thanks to this or that miracle solution! Everyone is very quick to notice if one has lost only one kilogram or so. And in come the compliments.

Here is a designer — a good designer — who has played by the rules of the rag trade for 22 years, enjoying small moments of critical success as they came and keeping his head down when they did not. He never complained, at least not publicly, when the spotlight moved on to designers who were less than half his age. Even in failure, he was gracious, taking pains to finish orders for dresses from his dearest customers before he shut down his business.
But he is not going quietly.
Those who have known him for long can attest that he is such a nice guy that he is about the last person they would have suspected was behind a scathing blog that skewers the industry’s most sacred cows. I love this bob for women with wavy to curly hair because it doesn't look overdone, just natural, sexy/cute, chic, and sophisticated.

I know the woman in the photo is beautiful, but if you just look at her hair, you can see what a great style this is. Very Anthropologie.

Anyway, I wish I had curlier hair so I could wear this.

The only concern with his haircut is that if you have a long face, it may over-exaggerate that.

This fall one of the hottest hues is purple. It can be seen on everything from your eyes, to your lips, cheeks and ohh yes even on the nails. Another trend is dramatic eye looks, so if you're the type of girl who loves playing up your eyes fall is your season to stand out. No matter if your wedding is taking place in the heart of the city or on an exotic isle, tropical colors are one of the hottest wedding trends. The bride herself can also get into the act by adding a bright blue sash or bold, colorful jewelry on her wedding day.

The tropical influence doesn't end with attire. Tropical cocktails are the drinks of choice, particularly Mai Tais and Blue Hawaiians.

Short Dresses

When you were growing up, you probably pictured yourself getting married in a beautiful, ball gown with a puffy skirt down to the floor, or a more fitted, full-length dress with a long, luxurious train. But wedding dresses don't have to be long. In fact, in recent years, tea-length or short dresses are growing in popularity.

Though a cocktail-length dress above the knee might not be suitable for a church wedding, a tea-length dress is certainly appropriate. Just a few inches above the ankle (not quite up to mid-calf), tea-length gowns are a little unique and a great way to show off a fabulous pair of shoes. You can also select a gown that is higher in the front and longer in the back, such as the Alfred Angelo gown pictured above.

For an outdoor or more informal wedding, you can go even shorter. Many brides are selecting wedding gowns that fall at or just above the knee. In terms of length, whatever you feel comfortable wearing is acceptable. Just don't wear a dress that is so short that you constantly have to worry about pulling it down.

I was told this photo was taken in 1977, but it has a 1960's influence. But I remember my own mother wearing these hairpieces during the 70's. She would bobbypin it on her her real hair every morning! I even remember the styroform head she kept it on.

For all skin types. Volcanic ash (in the form of mineral-rich clay), sugar crystals and natural enzymes combine to exfoliate and remove excess oils from the skin.

The VAE is in new packaging. It's in a tube like shave and cremewash. It did go down to 3.4oz (the older style tub was 4.5oz).

Mac Colour Craft Swatches and Review. The Colour Craft collection was all about Msfs and so many colors from the collection were breathtakingly gorgeous. If you're a big fan of Msfs make sure you pick up some goodies. Many worry that the Msfs are really glittery but I think Mac really turned it down this time around and made sure that nothing was too over the top glittery. The eyeshadows were also alot creamier and easier to apply then with other collections. One of my favorite Msf's was Sunny By Nature because it was so close to my skin tone and it was so soft and more matte then some of the others from the collection. The lip glosses were also alot easier to apply then with the sugarsweet collection. and they are also more pigmented. Look below to see swatches from the collection.
